Aston Martin and Breitling have unveiled the first product developed since the partnership between the two brands was announced in early 2026. Named the Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5, the collection transforms visual elements from the classic British sports car into three limited-edition watches.
Scheduled for release in July 2026, the line combines references to the Aston Martin DB5 with the historic characteristics of the Top Time chronograph, a model created by Breitling during the 1960s for an audience interested in speed, motorsport and contemporary design.
The connection between the two products also extends to cinema. In “Thunderball,” the James Bond film released in 1965, Sean Connery wore a Breitling Top Time reference 2002 in scenes that also featured the Aston Martin DB5. The new collection seeks to reproduce on the wrist some of the features found inside the DB5. The watch has an inner wooden ring inspired by the car’s steering wheel, as well as a leather strap with a hand-applied gradient finish.
The chronograph’s subdials have a shape similar to the instruments found on the dashboards of classic cars. The 41-millimeter case features rounded lines, grooved corners and mushroom-style pushers, elements reminiscent of chronographs produced in the 1960s.
Despite the retro inspiration, the construction uses modern materials and solutions. The collection will be offered in three configurations, with differences in finish, dial and production volume.
The most widely produced version combines a stainless-steel case with a silver dial. A total of 1,022 units will be made in a configuration visually similar to the original Top Time reference 2002.
The second option uses steel and platinum, accompanied by a black lacquered dial. Limited to 315 pieces, it features a platinum bezel that creates a contrast with the dial’s glossy surface.
At the top of the range is the edition with an 18-karat red gold case and a natural onyx dial. Production will be limited to 250 individually numbered units. According to Breitling, this is the first time the manufacturer has used the stone in one of its watches.
Movement offers a 70-hour power reserve
All three versions are equipped with the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01 mechanical movement, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, COSC.
The mechanism uses a column wheel and vertical clutch, components commonly employed to provide smoother and more precise operation of the chronograph functions. The power reserve is approximately 70 hours.
The movement can be viewed through the back of the case, protected by sapphire crystal. The rotor features an exclusive Aston Martin engraving and may have a rhodium-plated finish or be made from 18-karat red gold, depending on the version.
