The 2,800 square meter property in Malibu was designed by master Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who also created Kanye West’s $57.3 million mansion that he acquired during his divorce from Kim Kardashian.
The entire concrete house previously belonged to art collector William Bell and took 15 years to build, according to the outlet.
The “Crazy In Love” collaborators allegedly made a great deal with the structure, as it was listed for $295 million.
This investment is also the second most expensive real estate deal in the country, as a New York City apartment was previously sold for $238 million.
Fans on social media had mixed reactions to the new purchase. Several people found the purchase “excessive” and some called Beyoncé and Jay-Z “capitalists”.
